THEY are finally here: REDP (2017-2022) and GASA Magazine

CEBU CITY, November 28, 2017 – DepEd will never get tired of crafting educational designs for the needs of its learners, articulated with conviction by the OIC – Regional Director of DepEd – RO7, Juliet A. Jeruta, during the launching of its Regional Education Development Plan for 2017-2022 and its first ever GASA magazine on November 24, 2017 at Citi Park Hotel. The crafting of the Regional Development Education Plan is designed for a six – year road of service (C.Y. 2017- 2022) for DepEd-RO7. And the way to translate these plans is expressed in the first ever regional magazine(GASA), said Jeruta.

REDP (2017-2022), being the fundamental phase in the attainment of DepEd-Central Visayas’s educational development goals, it has regarded (4) facets, namely: its Organization, its People, its Technology, and its Projects, Activities and Programs (PAPs) while implementing the planning phase of such. Responsive to the needs of the agency and its school communities, REDP (2017-2022) also focuses on the desired and achievable targets that would contribute competence to the educational developments of DepEd – Region 7. A fragment of these developments is vacuumed from the integration of ICT to all DepEd transactions and school engagements. “There has to be a mutual agreement on the idea of integrating technology in the operations of the agency. DepEd-RO7 aims to capacitate its teachers to increase their techno competencies in designing learner-centered lessons, so as to achieve optimum learning and teaching efficiency,” this is according to Johnnyline Jagdon, ICT Officer of DepEd-RO7, in her concept talk on Technology.

Further, adjacent to the needs for development, the GASA magazine is conceived to house and record all deserving stories in the operations of the agency. As the official print property of DepEd-RO7, GASA is disguised as a gift to all those who encourage themselves to imprint development in their lives.
